Signed, sealed, and secured.

Lighthouse E-Sign is the electronic signature service through which we execute the documents of the entities we manage. It keeps no archive of signed documents, and it records the fact of every execution on the Solana public blockchain, so that any document it seals can be proven authentic, by anyone, long after our copy is gone.

How a document is sealed

Four steps. One permanent record.

Invitation

Each signer receives an invitation from the officer handling the matter, sent from that officer’s own firm address.

Identity

Before the document opens, the signer enters a one-time code sent to their email. Every visit requires a fresh code.

Execution

Signers adopt a signature once — typed, drawn, or uploaded — and apply it where the document requires. Each step is written to a hash-chained audit trail.

Seal

When the last signature is applied, a fingerprint of the executed document is recorded on Solana and the copy, with its Certificate of Execution, is delivered and filed.

The archive is the risk.

Conventional e-signature services keep a copy of every document their customers sign. Resolutions, operating agreements, powers of attorney, and account mandates accumulate on the provider’s servers, year after year, alongside the names and email addresses of everyone who signed them. An archive that exists can be breached, subpoenaed, or misused. For the documents of the entities in our care, the safest copy on a third-party server is the copy that is not there.

Signed, sealed, and secured.

While a document is out for signature, E-Sign holds it encrypted — the file, every signature image, and the audit trail. When the last signature is applied, the executed copy is delivered and filed to the entity’s records. E-Sign then permanently erases its copy of the document, the signatures, and the names and email addresses of the signers. A document that is never collected is erased automatically within thirty days. What remains is a fingerprint, the date of execution, and the location of its public record.

A public record of execution.

At execution, E-Sign computes a SHA-256 fingerprint of the entire executed document and records it on the Solana public blockchain with the document’s reference number. The record contains no names and no personal information. It is written by a signing key held in a hardware security module, which cannot be copied out by anyone, including our own staff. Once written, it cannot be altered or withdrawn.

Verification anyone can perform.

Every executed document carries a Certificate of Execution with its reference number and a code linking to the public verification page. A bank, a registrar, an auditor, or a court can select the file there; the fingerprint is computed in their own browser and the document is never uploaded. If a single page has been replaced, or a single word altered, it will not match.

Sample · not a valid certificate

Guilloche

Fields of hairline engraving, as on a banknote, too fine to survive a photocopy or a scan.

Rosette

Twenty-four rippled rings around the brass seal, drawn at a weight no reprint reproduces cleanly.

Microtext and serial

The envelope number and the document’s fingerprint run around the frame in microtext, beside a red serial number.

The stamp closes the Certificate of Execution appended to every executed document. Its serial number must resolve on the public verification page, and the document’s fingerprint must match the record on Solana. A certificate that fails either check is not genuine, however convincing it looks. When a copy matches, the verification page shows the stamp in motion, carrying that document’s own envelope number and fingerprint. A photocopy, a scan, or a screenshot stands still.
